The Central Committee of the PCP, meeting on June 11, 2024, analysed the results of the elections for the European Parliament on June 9 and for the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on May 26, and evaluated the 50th. anniversary celebrations of the April Revolution and outlined the priority lines of intervention and struggle for the Party.

When celebrating the 79th. anniversary of the Victory over Nazi-fascism in World War II, it is imperative to remember that Nazi-fascism was the most violent and criminal form of exploitation and oppression spawned by capitalism, with its anti-communism, its racism and xenophobia, its attack on freedoms and democratic rights, its support of militarism and war.

Here are the proposals that we present to the people and the workers, what are the ideas and objectives that serve them, particularly at a time when so many new challenges arise. This is the moment in which the importance of having more MPs in the European Parliament is greater, providing a distinctive and courageous voice, who do not evade difficulties, and stand up to the great powers and the lords of money.

Here we are accounting on the work carried out in the scope of the European Parliament by those elected on the CDU slates. Today we present the assessment of the work carried out, but our accountability is made every day, to the workers and the people. We said that the workers and the people could count on the CDU, five years later, we have fully fulfilled the commitments made. Those hearing us know, from their own experience, that our MPs were not closed in their offices in Brussels and Strasbourg.

The Central Committee of the PCP called the XXII Congress for December 13, 14 and 15, 2024.
